ADULTS + GROUPS
Here at Village Church, we believe that healthy disciples gather, grow, and go.
We gather in fellowship with God and with one another.
We grow by studying Scripture and depending on God through prayer.
We go on mission as God sends us into our neighborhoods and networks as disciple-makers.
We accomplish these goals primarily through two vehicles: Small Groups and Equip Village.
SMALL GROUPS
Each week, in addition to our Sunday gathering, we gather as smaller groups of disciples who meet together to be transformed by the gospel. We share our lives, pray and study Scripture, and then are sent out on mission into our networks and neighborhoods. Joining a small group is a great way to get involved at Village Church and deepen the journey of discipleship.

Here at Village, we aim to bring theological education back to the local church. We believe it is the job of church leaders, not to do all the ministry themselves, but to equip you to live on mission for Christ in your family, workplace, and relationships. We accomplish this equipping through core classes and seminars. Our core classes are regular, repeating, and intensive studies that seek to lay strong theological foundations for healthy discipleship. Our seminars, in contrast, are periodic events that address timely topics in our lives and culture.
FIRST FRIDAYS
This is a fun theology series where we hear a talk on how theology intersects with culture and have an opportunity to follow up with questions, all while enjoying some tasty snacks & beverages in a relaxed atmosphere.
Friday, July 11
6:30-8:00pm
Room 101
TOPIC : Homeward Bound: The Story of Humanity & Our Immigration Toward Christ
Speaker: Spencer Smith, Student Discipleship Pastor at Village Church of Gurnee
From Genesis to Revelation, the biblical narrative reveals humanity on a journey as spiritual immigrants toward finding our ultimate home in God. How might reading scripture as spiritual immigrants impact our worldview concerning immigration today? Gather with us as we seek to answer this question through the lens of scripture, concerning how we can love and serve the foreigner in our present cultural context.
