MEN’S FALL ONE-DAY EVENT
Guys, grab your flannels and get ready for our Men's Fall Event! We hope you can join us for a day filled with study, worship, fellowship, good food + good company!
The speaker will be John Kim, who is the husband of our Children’s Discipleship Director, Yoorah Cho. We’ll enjoy time in God’s word, worship, breakfast + lunch, and the chance to deepen Christ-centered relationships with other guys.

OUR SPEAKER
John came to faith later in life in 2013, when the Lord not only saved him but also placed in him a deep calling to preach and teach the Word. Soon after, he enrolled at Moody Theological Seminary, completing his Master of Divinity in 2022. For the past 12 years, John has faithfully served in the local church in a variety of roles - including worship leader, pastoral intern, adult Bible study & discipleship teacher, and most recently as an interim pastor. Rooted in the Reformed tradition, John’s preaching highlights the gospel of grace and the glory of Christ, calling God’s people to lives reshaped and renewed by these truths.
John serves bivocationally - working as a Vice President of Product in marketing analytics and software development, while also preaching and teaching in the church. He is married to Yoorah, the Children’s Discipleship Director here at Village Church of Gurnee, and they have been blessed with three beautiful children: Emery (9), Caroline (7), and Elliot (1). In his free time, John enjoys golf, where at one point he carried a 3 handicap, though he admits those days may be behind him
